Terms of Service

Chiro Central · 455 Pacific Hwy, Crows Nest NSW 2066 · chirocentral.com.au

1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Chiro Central, including any consultation, treatment, or appointment booked with us, whether in person, by phone, by email, or through our online booking system. By booking an appointment, attending a consultation, or otherwise using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you are booking or consenting to treatment on behalf of another person, such as a child, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that you agree to these Terms on their behalf as well as your own. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please contact us before booking or attending an appointment so we can discuss your concerns.

2. About Us

Chiro Central is a musculoskeletal health clinic based in Crows Nest, NSW, providing chiropractic care and related therapies. Our services include chiropractic assessment and treatment, dry needling, cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM), rehabilitation, and injury prevention support, delivered by qualified, AHPRA-registered practitioners.

3. Our Services

We provide a range of musculoskeletal assessment and treatment services designed to help you manage pain, improve function, and support your long-term physical health. Our services include:

  • Chiropractic care: assessment, diagnosis, and hands-on treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, including spinal and joint adjustments.
  • Dry needling: a technique using fine needles to target trigger points and release muscular tension.
  • Cupping: a soft tissue technique used to reduce muscle tightness and support recovery.
  • Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM): the use of specialised tools to treat soft tissue restrictions and support healing.
  • Rehabilitation: individualised exercise and movement programs to support recovery and long-term function.
  • Injury prevention: assessment and advice aimed at reducing the risk of future injury.

Every treatment plan is tailored to your individual presentation, history, and goals, following a clinical assessment. While our practitioners will always work to the best of their professional ability and in your best interests, we do not and cannot guarantee any specific outcome, level of pain relief, or timeframe for recovery, as individual responses to treatment vary. All services are provided by practitioners who are appropriately qualified and registered with the relevant professional board, and who practise within their scope of registration.

4. Booking and Appointments

Appointments can be booked online through our booking system, Cliniko, or by contacting us directly by phone or email. When you book an appointment, you will typically receive a confirmation and, closer to your appointment time, a reminder via email or SMS through Cliniko.

  • It is your responsibility to arrive on time for your appointment. Arriving late may mean your treatment time is shortened to keep other patients' appointments on schedule, and the full consultation fee will still apply.
  • Please ensure the contact details you provide when booking are accurate and up to date, so we can reach you regarding your appointment if needed.
  • On rare occasions we may need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, for example due to practitioner illness or an unforeseen emergency. If this happens, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and offer you an alternative appointment time at no additional cost to you.

5. Cancellation and No-Show Policy

We understand that plans can change, but late cancellations and missed appointments affect our ability to offer that time to other patients. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • We require at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
  • If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or do not attend your appointment ("no-show"), a fee of 50% of the scheduled appointment cost will apply.
  • This fee will be charged to the payment method held on file (via our payment processor, Stripe) or invoiced to you directly, and is payable before or at the time of your next appointment.
  • We understand that genuine emergencies or unforeseen circumstances can arise. If you contact us to explain the circumstances of a late cancellation, we will consider this on a case-by-case basis and may waive the fee at our discretion.

6. Fees and Payment

Payment for consultations and treatment is due at the time of your appointment, unless otherwise agreed with us in advance.

  • We accept payment via Stripe, credit card, and EFTPOS.
  • If you hold private health insurance that covers chiropractic treatment, we can process on-the-spot claims and rebates through HICAPS at the time of payment, where your fund supports this.
  • Current fees for consultations and treatments are available from us on request or at the time of booking. We do not currently require deposits or upfront package payments, and fees are charged on a per-appointment basis unless we agree otherwise with you directly.
  • If an invoice remains unpaid, we may follow up by email or phone to request payment, and we reserve the right to decline future bookings until any outstanding balance has been settled. We will always try to resolve payment issues directly and reasonably with you before taking any further action.

7. Consent to Treatment

We will only provide treatment once you have given your informed consent. Informed consent means that, before your treatment begins, we will explain the proposed treatment, its likely benefits, any material risks involved, and any reasonable alternatives, in plain language, and give you the opportunity to ask questions. Your agreement to proceed, after receiving this information, is what allows us to go ahead with treatment.

You are entitled to withdraw your consent at any time, including during a treatment session, and we will stop treatment immediately if you ask us to. Where appropriate, we document that consent has been discussed and obtained as part of your clinical record, consistent with the standards expected of chiropractors registered with the Chiropractic Board of Australia.

8. Patient Responsibilities

Your care is a partnership between you and your practitioner, and there are some things we need from you to provide safe and effective treatment.

  • Please provide accurate and complete information about your health history, current symptoms, medications, and any other relevant medical information when asked.
  • Please tell us promptly if there is any change in your health, medication, or circumstances that may be relevant to your treatment, including new injuries, surgeries, or diagnoses.
  • Please follow the advice, home exercises, and self-care recommendations provided by your practitioner, as these are often an important part of your treatment plan and recovery.
  • Please raise any concerns, discomfort, or questions about your treatment with your practitioner as soon as they arise, so we can address them appropriately.

9. Minors and Under-18 Patients

Chiro Central welcomes patients under the age of 18. Because children and teenagers require additional care and protection, the following applies to all patients under 18:

  • Patients under 18 must attend their appointment accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, unless we have specifically agreed otherwise with the parent or guardian in advance.
  • A parent or legal guardian must provide informed consent to treatment on behalf of a patient under 18, following the same explanation of the proposed treatment, benefits, risks, and alternatives described in Section 7. This consent is recorded as part of the patient's clinical record.
  • For older teenage patients who demonstrate sufficient understanding of the proposed treatment, our practitioners may involve the young person directly in discussions about their care, in addition to their parent or guardian, using professional judgement as to what is appropriate.
  • Our practitioners take reasonable safeguarding precautions when treating minors, including explaining each part of the examination or treatment before it is carried out and ensuring a parent or guardian is present or immediately available throughout the appointment.

10. Limitation of Liability and Clinical Disclaimer

Chiropractic care and related treatments such as dry needling, cupping, IASTM, and rehabilitation exercise carry inherent risks, which will be explained to you as part of the informed consent process before treatment begins. These may include, but are not limited to, temporary soreness, bruising, or discomfort, and in rare cases more serious complications. We encourage you to ask your practitioner about any risks specific to your treatment.

Chiro Central is not a substitute for emergency medical services or ongoing care from your general practitioner or medical specialists. Our services are not suitable for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 000 or attend your nearest hospital emergency department immediately.

As required by the Australian Consumer Law under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, including the guarantee that services will be provided with due care and skill. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to those non-excludable guarantees, Chiro Central's liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the resupply of the relevant service or the cost of having the service supplied again, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your treatment.

As noted throughout these Terms, we do not guarantee specific treatment outcomes or results, and individual responses to treatment vary.

11. Professional Standards and Regulation

Our chiropractic practitioners are registered with the Chiropractic Board of Australia and regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). All practitioners at Chiro Central are required to practise in accordance with the Chiropractic Board of Australia's Code of Conduct and all applicable professional, ethical, and clinical standards that apply to registered chiropractors in Australia.

12. Complaints Procedure

If you are ever unhappy with any aspect of your care or your experience at Chiro Central, we want to know about it so we can put things right.
